How It Works

Contact Us
Reach out via phone, email or the contact form. Your pediatrician can also fax us a referral. We will reach out to you, get additional information, verify your insurance benefits, and schedule an initial evaluation.

Evaluation
An initial evaluation will take place at our clinic. You will receive guidance and education on things to do at home and we will determine if ongoing treatment sessions are needed.

Treatment
If we determine that ongoing treatment is needed, we will work together to make goals for your child. Most children require weekly or every-other-week therapy sessions. We will work hard until your child's skills are functional and they are ready for discharge!

Hi! I am so glad you are here. I'm Kelsey Norris, the owner of Nourish Pediatrics in Marion, Iowa. I'm a pediatric speech therapist (Speech-Language Pathologist) and Certified Lactation Counselor with over a decade of clinical experience helping babies, toddlers, and children with feeding, breastfeeding, and communication.

I received my BA from the University of Northern Iowa and my MA from the University of Iowa. After several years as a speech therapist, I trained to become a Certified Lactation Counselor so I could support families starting with those very first feeds.
​
As a speech therapist, lactation counselor, and mom of two toddlers, I see feeding and communication through a unique lens. I know all too well how hard it can be to breastfeed your baby, get your toddler to try new foods, or watch your child struggle to communicate. I get to walk alongside your family and problem-solve even the most complex feeding and speech situations.

Speech therapy for late talkers and speech and language delays, including trouble saying sounds clearly (articulation), trouble understanding or using words and sentences (receptive and expressive language), and difficulty planning the movements needed for speech (childhood apraxia of speech)
Every family I work with gets care that is family-centered, trauma-informed, and grounded in the most up-to-date research. My goal is to provide individualized speech therapy, feeding therapy, and lactation support so kids and families in Marion, Cedar Rapids, and across Eastern Iowa can thrive.
